WINDOWS PERFORMANCE MONITORING - Administrator Guide

ISSUE:

What Performance Statistics should be followed up on a Windows 2008 by you, the System Administrator?

ANSWER:

Keep your eyes on these:


  • - Disks Queue Length averages over time should be at or below 4 requests per physical disk.
  • - Memory Pages/Sec should have an average value lower than 50
  • - Processor % Processor Time should not exceed 85%
  • - Network Total Bytes/Sec should not exceed 90% of line capacity.
